Taunga Kereru - organic fruit, veg & preserves
Organic growers Liz and Rick started farming their land 23 years ago, with their garlic crop’s first harvest 4 years later. The crop was so successful they ended up with a surplus which they began to share and supply to caterers around town.
One such happy customer was using a lot of basil in her Raglan café and got Liz and Rick to get planting, which they did. A change in that café’s direction left the growers with a glut of basil and so began their now infamous pesto!
Over the years Liz and Rick have diversified and now have a large variety of fresh produce and conserved delights, nothing is wasted. They can be found at the Raglan Creative market the second Sunday of the month.
True Food Organic Whole Foods
True Food creator Abbie Morgan is all about simple, nutritious whole foods that require no compromise on taste.
Her love of food comes from growing up in a family of self-taught chefs and was nurtured through her own career in the industry. From pot washer to catering business owner Abbie worked her way through the ranks until becoming a mum required a change of pace and lifestyle.
Today Abbie produces a delicious blend of whole food goodness in the form of granola which is gluten-free, paleo and organic to boot! It’s not just for breakfast though – we’ve used it to make a brittle, which is the perfect ‘crunch’ in our Mother’s Day parfait.
Mushroom grower Lennart Prinz’s fascination with permaculture began with a book he picked up during a study break in Germany. He realised that there was a real opportunity to combine his love of mushrooms with a method of growing that is in harmony with the ecosystem.
While there were many varieties of mushrooms available to consumers in Europe, back home in New Zealand choices were limited, Lenny decided to change that and began researching for his mushroom farm project.
Today Prinz Mushrooms grow gourmet mushrooms with a strong focus on organics and sustainability, they pick almost daily ensuring freshness and dry any not sold, which make a great pantry staple for those fresh mushroom-free summer months!

They began selling their raw milk to a few neighbours at the gate about 10 years ago and today supply a much larger number of customers eager to drink their milk as it comes, non-pasteurised and non-homogenised.
